Etrian Odyssey Shows Its Class
For those anxiously awaiting Etrian Odyssey II: Heroes of Lagaard for the Nintendo DS, we have a few new juicy character classes to whet your appetite. Adding to those already detailed, Atlus has added Medic, Troubadour, and Protector.
Shockingly, Medics will, once again, focus on healing. This time around, though, they’ll have some new abilities that work on the entire party at once. Their Force Skill “H. Touch” has been upgraded so as to restore the entire party’s HP and status. Medics will also have the ability to remove the party’s bindings and will be able to sacrifice themselves to resurrect and restore the rest of the party.
Next up, Troubadours are support specialists. Their songs can imbue elemental attacks to allies, boost stats, or nullify enemy status boosts. In addition to charming regular enemies, their songs can send FOEs napping or even lure them to a designated location. The Troubadour’s Force Skill, “Crusade” boosts the party’s attack, defense, and HP.
The Protector class, too, is making a return– with some tweaks. Players will now be able to choose whether the Protector will defend the entire party, the front or back line, or a particular ally. They also have the ability to raise party defense. The Force Skill “Painless” blocks all damage to the party for one turn.
Etrian Odyssey II: Heroes of Lagaard is due out June 17. Eager players can check out the game’s official site in the meantime.
